Disney Cruise Ships Welcome Guests

Welcome to the Disney Dream! We write about cruises a lot around here because we just can’t help to get excited every time there’s new information. This is because the industry has really had a hard time during the pandemic. Being fully shut down for so long, it’s a beautiful thing to see it coming back to life.

It’s been a total of 16 months and finally we get to welcome you to the Disney Dream, and it’s ready to set sail out of Port Canaveral. This will be the first time that the ship will have guests and not just employees onboard. This is because there had to be tests done to ensure the safety of guests and employees in regards to the ongoing pandemic. The CDC has said that its rules will help to prevent COVID-19 our breaks on ships that have close quarters and frequent stops in foreign locations.

Welcome Back to The Disney Dream

When will ships be setting sail? That’s a great questions and the date has been set for August 9th. In a recent Instagram video Disney Signature Experiences President Thomas Mazloum said that “we’re ready to welcome you aboard and set sail once again.” This will be the first time that paying guests will be on Disney Dream since the pandemic took hold and halted the industry.

Cruises will be three and four nights as of right now, and they will set sail right here in Port Canaveral. The cruises will be visiting Disney’s private island Castaway Cay, located in the Bahamas. In an advisory to guests, Disney recently stated that ,”we are resuming sailing in a gradual, phased approach that emphasizes multiple layers of health and safety measures, developed in consideration of guidance from the U.S. Centers of Disease Control and Prevention and other medical experts.” Which brings us to what you will need to expect when it comes to the ongoing pandemic and Disney’s travel regulations.

Safety Measures Onboard

The pandemic is ongoing and it’s clear that it’s not going to be over anytime soon. However, with that being said we also need to still be able to travel and also feel safe. Disney has made sure to follow all CDC guidelines, to ensure the health and safety of guests and staff.

Vaccines are being strongly encouraged but are not mandatory and not required to be a guest on any Disney Cruise Line. When it comes to other cruise lines, we advise that you check and make sure if it’s a requirement.

Guests that do show their proof of vaccine will be able to skip being tested before their trip from Florida. However, guests that who don’t show their proof of vaccine will be required to take a COVID-19 test before leaving home and also at their cruise ship port.

Face masks will be required in all public spaces while onboard and hand sanitizers will be provided throughout the ship. Finally when it comes to social distancing, Disney Cruise Lines will be limiting ships capacity to ensure this can be met. Cleaning will also be done twice a day in all staterooms and air purification systems have been installed.

At Port Canaveral Transportation we also take the safety of our clients very seriously and you’ll be happy to know that all our drivers are vaccinated and those who are not will wear masks. While we don’t place those requirements on our clients, we want them to know they are in good hands while travelling with us.
